Obviously the problem with voicing our cries is that they often don't turn one towards God, but deepens us towards more anger and bitterness and self-pity. The themes in the Psalms: cry out, turn to God and proclaim God's goodness. I'm glad to see that the verses in the newer blog creates a drawing near to God.

Comment on Broken

1 Peter 1:6-7 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith-- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1 Peter 2:19 For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.
1 Peter 2:21-23 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 22 "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth." 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
1 Peter 2:20 But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.
continue reading in 1 Peter to find even more answers of hope during despair, perhaps some more specific answers you're looking for are not far from here.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord God is with you where ever you go.

Comment on Tapas

Totally cheering about your eldest and totally giggling about the youngest...little Roomba squirt.

Comment on The Hardest Thing

Total goosebumps here too.
